HI!!! My name is Sharia. It’s pronounced Cher like the singer, because “I’ve got you babe!”

I hail from the boozy brunch capitol: Washington, DC. The home of history and half-smokes, politics and prose, go-go and government; Washington, DC is the melting pot of the world!

The name of my company celebrates the rich diversity and cultural heritage of the community in which I was raised. The swag of a true Washingtonian is cultivated from the influence of both our world citizens and DC natives alike! The hustle and bustle of city life has manifested a love of exploration that fuels my wandering eyes. Having so many museums and artifacts at arm’s reach spurs my curiosity to learn—and sometimes, to teach. Street art and national monuments makes for some EPIC selfie backdrops! And heaven help me, the people watching brings about THE BEST stories!

And whoever came up with the “Hollywood for ugly people” slogan hasn’t been to MY city (#theSHADE); because my people are walking billboards of style and slay. From power suits to killer pumps, DC’s fashion scene is a marvel to behold. (And I can bet money you’ve NEVER seen a woman in a dress and stilettos weaving in and out of traffic on a moped!)

The people, the music, the arts, the culture, the cuisine—DC literally has it all! And it is in homage to the place I get to call home that I named my event company Eclectic Fête!

My love of big words spurred a moniker whose literal translation is an ode to how I work and what inspires me! “Eclectic” means to pull inspiration from different sources; and “Fête” is the French word for celebration!! I plan events that pull inspiration from a vast array of sources, but my FAVORITE muse is YOU!

Your unique story is how we curate details that your guests will experience organically throughout your event. Your passions, your favorites, the things you love—all on display. Because for me, there’s no greater compliment than to hear a guest say “this space feels like you”; for them to learn something about you they didn’t know walking in the door; and for them to have the experience of a lifetime—in your esteemed honor.

Eclectic Fête was manifested from a love of all things color, culture, and quirk! So please don’t be fooled by the “light and airy” gang, because we’re all about pushing you to celebrate your AUTHENTIC self. Not all of us are blush and blonde. Some of us are 4c cuties. Some are boho baddies. Some are LOUD and PROUD. Some of us may not even speak English well (join the club). Some of us are super simple…some of us are fancy AF! And some of us are fresh as hell in case the FEDS are watchin. (I see you boo!)

From kimchi to collard greens, Christian to agnostic, hereto to all things LGBTQIA+, ballgowns to booty shorts, ballrooms to cemeteries (you read that right); Eclectic Fête is a safe and affirming space for you to manifest your hearts desires—to celebrate the YOU that YOU LOVE!

And in doing so, it’s my job to ensure you celebrate you the right way, because be clear:

You want to count it all joy, but who’s counting your coins?!

Fashionably late; but who’s going to ensure you’re on-time?!

Leave a little sparkle wherever you go….but who’s gonna clean it up?!

Live in the moment with reckless abandon…but you can’t do that if you’re worried about the details.

Because I promise, it’s all fun and games until the music stops and the lights come on too soon!

Hi!! I'm Sharia, CEO & resident Rock Star of Eclectic Fête!! I'm a fun-loving, spontaneous dance party-having, event GEEK with a penchant for using way too many exclamation marks!!  I LUST after creating an unforgettable experience and the closest thing to coffee you'll ever see me with is a café au lait dahlia!!  I have a sick obsession with ice cream and I may/may not end my sentences with a song lyric every now and then.  If I'm not gallivanting across the globe acquiring new inspiration, I'll definitely be making memories with my infinite list of loved ones and boo thangs!
